reviewed
your application, we will contact you
for an informal group interview.

A note about tuition for the Summer
Institute:
If you have a University of Illinois
tuition waiver, you can use it for the Summer Institute. If not, you
are responsible for the tuition which is about $1300. We will have some
tuition support available if our proposed funding from the National
Writing Project is accepted.

1. Please provide the following information in a résumé or a similar statement:
• Teaching experience. Please give the name and location of the school(s) where you have taught, subjects and grade levels you have taught, including a brief description of the students you presently work with.
• Colleges and universities attended. Please give the dates and degrees earned.
• Honors and achievements.
• Professional affiliations. Please include writing conferences you have participated in, presentations you have made, etc., if applicable.
2. Please respond to the following prompt in about 500 words:
Describe one approach, strategy, or assignment you use to incorporate writing into your classes. Please explain your thinking about this teaching approach and any issues or dilemmas it raises for you and your students.
3. Request one letter of recommendation from a
colleague or
administrator who can comment on your strengths as a teacher.
The letter should be included with the application packet and should
include the name, address, and contact information of the letter
writer.
