What is the
UIWP
Invitational Summer Institute?
The Invitational Summer Institute is the cornerstone of the UIWP and is
designed for experienced teachers from all disciplines and at all
levels of
instruction. Participating teachers will
- have opportunities
to demonstrate their own best practices and classroom successes;
- study writing
theory and research;
- experience the
writing process by writing and sharing their writing in small groups;
- learn about digital
literacy and video as a rhetorical medium through hands-on training;
- publish their work
on-line.

first Invitational Summer Institute took place at the

teachers from ALL subject areas who
- teach in Champaign-Urbana and surrounding areas
- have potential for and commitment to assuming leadership roles
